When crafting our monthly ad reel campaign, I spotted an opportunity for some creative experimentation. A reel from the previous month caught my eye - not just performing well, but exceeding our engagement metrics. It was doubling our reach and tripling engagement, which piqued my curiosity.


Analysing the data, I determined that educational content was the key to our previous success. I saw this as a chance to implement a data-driven content strategy. Building on this insight, I proposed evolving our strategy from photography tips to trendy TikTok videography tricks.


To align with Instagram's algorithm trends, I restructured the content into a "We tried these viral video tricks" format. Fortunately, the tenant was running a promotional offer at the same time, providing an ideal opportunity to integrate a strong call-to-action with a valuable educational social currency.


This post served as my first venture into loose A/B testing, designed to assess audience response to this evolved approach. By combining trending educational content with an attractive offer, we successfully increased both engagement and reach, validating the effectiveness of our new strategy.


Results:

  • Record-breaking 377 likes, up from the previous 110.
  • Doubled audience reach compared to our previously top-performing reel.


The exceptional results were not by chance but by the outcome of strategic planning, user behaviour analysis, and the integration of trending content with timely promotions. This reinforces the importance of data-driven strategies in achieving measurable success.
